Old, dusty, weathered, hand made, empty bowls and vessels in particular fascinate me as a subject matter. I embrace imperfections - my vessels are never shiny and  new, I find old, chipped, made by hand, and weathered infinitely more interesting. Often the backgrounds of the paintings have a sense of age and imperfection as well as the subjects, peeling paint, layers of age.
